iNET Interactive, a web-centric media company serving special interest communities through prominent online properties, events, and publications, recently announced the re-design of Mac-Forums.
The Mac-Forums community, founded in 2003, has seen steady growth in membership over the years. As a result of the explosive growth in Apple products like the iPad and iPhone, Mac-Forums is now one of the fastest growing communities in the iNET Interactive portfolio. Mac-Forums currently serves over 3 million visitors every month.
Community leaders, working with iNET staff, initiated the redesign project during the annual planning session for Mac-Forums in mid-2011. The new Mac-Forums brings a much-anticipated redesign that will allow Mac-Forums to ride the wave of excitement over Apple products.
“The community leaders felt that it was important for Mac-Forums to look like Apple products—modern, elegant and clean,” said Andy Boyd, Product Manager for Mac-Forums. “They were heavily involved in providing guidance and feedback each step of the way.”
In addition to the redesign, the new Mac-Forums also offers improvements that will allow members to showcase their most interesting discussions as well as community members’ creative and editorial works.
iNET designers did a fantastic job in the redesign, according to Boyd. “I think we achieved our goal,” Boyd said. “The new site definitely looks the part. Most importantly though, the response from the community has been very positive. The members are extremely happy with the end-result.”
